Three sailor’s vests, 1968

Send a request

In 1968, Sergey Petrukhin was on a business trip to Siberia. A caravan of dry cargo ships slowly moved along the Yenisei river from Krasnoyarsk to Tura, which could only be reached in May by high water. The photo “Three sailor’s vests” turned out by accident: Petrukhin saw a sailor hanging vests on the deck. The space between the sky and the water served as a backdrop, and nothing else was visible.
At the photo show in England, this work received a gold medal. The photographer is especially proud that the award was presented to him by Dmitry Baltermants.
