Doves of peace, 1962

In 1962, the exhibition “Our youth” – one of the main events of the year for soviet reporters – opens with Vladimir Lagrange’s photo” Doves of peace”, against which the entire exhibition unfolds. In May 1962, the magazine “Soviet photo” publishes this photo for a spread, and it will always remain the “business card” of the author. The action in the frame takes place on the Red square, but Lagrange shifts the emphasis from official symbols to human emotions, as a result of which the entire perception system works differently, even the Kremlin seems to “unfreeze”.
