After the war, Savin worked for “Ogonyok”, and as a correspondent for the magazine, he managed to travel abroad more than once as part of official delegations. In 1961, the photographer was in Vienna during the fateful meeting of N. Khrushchev and J. Kennedy was able to make a live reportage shot of Khrushchev greeting the first lady of the United States.
