This photo was taken by Vladimir Stepanov during the VGIK entrance exams. Genre photography was part of the exam, and applicants always took it at VDNkH. It was there that Stepanov saw the boy walking slowly along the car and examining it. Behind the heavy car, the photographer could only see the child’s thin legs, and he decided to capture this situation, expressive due to the bright contrast.
