Harold Feinstein describes his street photography as a pleasure that comes to him wherever he is: near the glittering lights of Times Square, the streets of Harlem filled with smoke cafes, subways and storefronts. “Over time, I had the opportunity to travel the streets of New York, travel to other parts of the country and the world. Everywhere, people live their own story, but are connected to each other through universal emotions of love, loss, curiosity, humor, and compassion. This portfolio of my street photography is a small example of my photographic journey, showing the beauty and mystery of human life. I took this photo when I lived in Philadelphia and taught at the Annenberg School of Communication. You may notice that my reflection in the window holds the camera vertically, but the frame is horizontal. This is because then I used the Olympus semi-format camera — one of my favorites.”
