Advertising campaign for the Charles Jourdan brand, Autumn, 1977

Send a request

Charles Jourdan’s famous 1977 ad campaign, which tells a fantasy story about a submissive maid and an attractive hostess, was made in Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris apartment. Guy Bourdin’s red-haired Muse Nicole Meyer, with whom Guy Bourdin worked from 1977 to 1980, played the role of the maid. The resulting two photos formed a kind of diptych and were simultaneously published in French and British Vogue. On one of them, the maid fastens the strap of the shoes of an elegantly dressed hostess, on the second, the characters change roles.
