Injecting irony and fantasy into Russia's greying suburbs – in pictures
Moscow exhibition "Irony as Landscape" showcases young artists playing with stereotypes of Soviet-era suburban landscapes. It is a joint project by three young photographers – Alexander Lyubin, Oleg Borodin and Anton Zabrodin – who explore symbolism and irony and how they relate to the Russian urban landscape.Borodin, born in Moscow, says his dream was to find a way to create the ‘vision of meadows’ spreading out through the high-rise buildings in Yasenevo, Moscow.
